The Cursillo Movement:
What is it?
Cursillo is a movement, through a method of its own, through God's grace. . . which manages to enable the spiritual hungers of the Christian to come to life in the uniqueness, originality, and creativity of each person.
In becoming aware of their potential and while accepting their limitations, the attendees exercise their freedom and conviction. Then they strengthen their will with their decision to begin friendship in both their personal and community life, while gaining the confidence in their own God given virtue.
The heart and soul of the Cursillo is the sending forth of the Holy Spirit to fill the hearts of the faithful.
Prayer, camaraderie, and closeness to our Lord during these three and one half days, strengthened by the absence of the many distractions from the secular world make this spiritual time powerful, and without equal.
When new spiritual knowledge is united with prayer, daily Mass, Holy Communion and dedication to the love and adoration of the Sacred Heart of Mary and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the end result is not surprising. It changes hearts.
Some, for the first time in their faith journey, find that they are inspired within, to a deeper devotion to their faith, that the Lord makes known through the creation and sending forth of the Holy Spirit, just like Jesus promised to the faithful during Pentecost.

Eduardo Bonnín Aguiló, Founder of the Cursillos in Christianity Movement, has passed away. On 6 February 2008 at 4:00 p.m., at the age of 90, Eduardo Bonnín died after a brief illness. The date of February 6 is providential for several reasons. It is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, marking the road toward true freedom and the 68th anniversary of a historic event in Eduardo’s life. The National Secretariat, upon expressing its condolence for the loss of this distinguished cornerstone in the Movement, would like to outline the life and personality of the founder of the Cursillos in Christianity Movement with some fragments of a biographical sketch. The conversion of St. Paul almost two thousand years ago happened in
a turbulent environment similar to ours, where divine grace worked in
history to consolidate the Christian church in the Gentile world. Jesus
exhorts us today in his Gospel to pay attention to the signs of the times.
In this present time, the signs of the times reveal our world in a state of
spiritual, moral, economic, and social crisis. The same divine grace
that sanctified St. Paul and made him fruitful in the task of
evangelization, works in us today for our own sanctification and to
make us courageous to continue Jesus mission of the salvation of
humanity in the frame of a New Advent, a New Pentecost. READ the whole article.
