This reference book, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, is available to use online through the Knights of Columbus website free of charge.
FREE Bible use online! In the 17th century, King James translators worked from the Erasmus Greek text of the New Testament. Erasmus had six Greek manuscripts from which to work. NIV translators work from more than 5,000 complete or partial manuscripts and papyri.

Like the NIV itself, the NIV Study Bible is the work of a transdenominational team of Biblical scholars [more about the NIV Bible]. All confess the authority of the Bible as God's infallible word to humanity. They have sought to clarify understanding of, develop appreciation for, and provide insight into that word. This website provides the "Introductions to the Books of the Bible" that are found in the NIV Study Bible.
Welcome to Works for Christ's web site. The purpose of these pages is to provide you with information about the topics in the above headings.
Prayer and prayer requests are an important part of this website. In my church, Saint Joseph's in Macon, GA, I am active in: R.C.I.A., Cursillo, Kairos, (a prison ministry), and other ministries in the church. Among the Cursillo and the Kairos group we share prayer requests from our members, if you would like to become a member of Works for Christ's prayer warriors just go to prayer requests and ask to be put on the private prayer email list. Members names will not be disclosed or used for any other purpose.
You will find additional resources provided on each subject page. On the right hand side of this page there are resource listings for the main Catholic information and reading sources online for handy reference.
Due to the mischief on the internet with copying emails and spamming people there is only one section where you can email us for prayer requests or you can leave a message for Charlie Courtois in the message section of the prayer request.
In August of 2008 I began blogging on Newsvine, a MSNBC owned site, that has 15-20 thousand bloggers. We write articles on a broad variety of topics. About 70% of my writings are about spiritual and religious topics. Of course politics and business make up the other 30%. You are welcome to visit my pages here.
In 2006 my wife and I returned home to the Catholic Church by first attending R.C.I.A., "Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults," for nine months, and then entering the church in full communion on Easter Vigil in 2007; our conversion story is written in three parts here on Newsvine.
Information about Cursillo and Kairos, R.C.I.A, (a nine month program for new Catholics and fallen away Catholics returning to the church), will be answered promptly (that is received) in the prayer message section. In communicating this way the computer robots cannot harvest your email or mine. This is a non-profit information website and your email will only be used for prayer or answering a question you may have about something for the church and/or prayerful communication.
Catholics Come Home, some testimonials about returning to the church and to our Lord
Teaching's about Mary, the Mother of God, and the teachings in the Bible.
is hosted every Monday at 8:00 P.M. on E.W.T.N. by Marcus Grodi. His program features a convert to the Catholic faith that was a pastor or lay teacher of a different faith. If you cannot receive E.W.T.N. on your cable you can view the program on the E.W.T.N. website live, or listen to the radio version as well there.
